Bulk bullet storage

I am with 64Rambler, I have a batch of SMK107 seconds I culled by Base to Ogive, I picked up a case with partitions from Menards to keep them separated in small batches. Works great.

Plano ProLatch maybe a 3700 I am not sure but the latches are very solid. Can move the plastic partitions around or leave them out all together. See through also. Not a ton of money and you can stack em, file em or how ever you would want to store the case. The case are made with Yellow Latches.

I like to put my very detailed note inside with the component or bullet. For instance with pistol brass: 380 ACP - Range Brass - Deprimed - Unsized - Unsorted - Check for length and cartridge!

I store them in a zip lock bag with a few drops of oil in the box they come in.
Open bag,
Add a few drops of oil.
Roll them around a bit.
Seal and store.

The oil should prevent any oxidization over long term.

Ok, the why. 1. The loose in paper bags from Sierra already mentioned and 2. Several tiny little boxes of 100 of tiny little Hornet 45gr that would be nice to have in one larger more easily handled lot.

Exactly. Why store them in anything other than the box/bag they came in?
I used to stash bullets in their original boxes. Problem is, I got unstable piles of different-sized boxes. I'd have to unstack boxes when I wanted something near the bottom of the pile. I suppose I have too much of an accumulation. . . . Using numbered 50 cal cans as I mentioned above lets me go directly to the right can and retrieve what I want. I can put various sized boxes of bullets, loose bullets or bagged bullets in the cans. They stack nicely and it means I don't have to fish through piles of small boxes. The 50 cal can is right-sized. I have used 20mm or 40mm cans but they're too big. You wind up rutting through a small pile of different-sized boxes. Plus you can forget about moving them when full of bullets.

Several years ago, I helped my buddy move his mom out of her huge old house and into his place. As we went through the old place, we encountered thousands of ummmm, handy storage dishes and containers.

His mom had apparently valued these things, and could not bring herself to throw one away. --- cat food cans, margarine containers, Dixy Cups, sardine cans, almost any container with a snap lid, and jugs with screw lids. Boxes and boxes full of jars, some canning approved, many not. Huge stacks of decorative gift boxes, -- It was astounding.

Now when I find myself hanging onto something like that, I think naahh, not gonna do it. jd

I'll have to hope someone in Houston has too many yellow boxes and wants to get rid of some. :)
youre supposed to buy them full and shoot the bullets up inside them and thats how to get those empty yellow boxes:rolleyes: i bet i have more than 20 but some of these guys probably have a pickup load at least
