Nice!I have acquired a barrel, xactly what I need.
It is a new Krieger Blank from a fellow member.
It’s a win/win for both of us.
It’s rather timely that this thread is running at this time. If I use the Shehane Tracker Stock, I am going to have to figure a way to mount a suitable Bypod.
Heavy / ELR style bipod
I'm in the market for a heavy duty bipod. I've shot pretty competitively in FO and FTR and know how long it can take to narrow down into a quality combination so looking for some advice from those that have experience. This will initially be used on a MDT ACC in 7PRC and the biggest I'd go with...forum.accurateshooter.com
That should work. With a standard magnum bolt face. Probably a 338 edge?
For mounting the bipod maybe inlet 2 or 3 drilled and tapped pillars in the bottom of the forend. Could drill through from the barrel channel and come back with a spade bit and make the pillars like a top hat so they can't pull through the stock. Then you can bolt a picatinny or acra rail to the bottom side and extend it out past the end of the forend if you need.
I’m going with the 338 Lapua Imp. I am ordering a new bolt for my Bat M with the Lapua bolt face, as I do not wish to open up my existing bolt.Jackie, why are you wanting to go with the 338 RUM over a 300 or 338 lapua mag. imp?
You could also go with a 300, 338 Norma mag imp.
Is it because you already have the bolt or just want to keep the recoil down a bit less?
Both the Lapua's and Norma's have plenty of info and support.
I'm sure you could find or just buy the bigger bolt from Bat.
The adjustable bag rider is the way I went.If your not competing in ELR competitions and weight is of no issue then have a look at a Phoenix precision bipod. Easy to get fine adjustment on height and rigid. I use a Seb for FTR and the joystick function is nice but it's built to a weight and I wouldn't like to put a heavy boomer on it.

With a accutac style bipod the hight adjustment is pretty course so it's easier if the stock has a fairly steep angle on the butt to make height adjustment. If you have a tracker style / virtually flat stock then having fine adjustment in the front is going to help. After that then treat it like old school bag squeezer BR. A good muzzle brake is also a huge advantage.
There are two options i have employed. It’s rather timely that this thread is running at this time. If I use the Shehane Tracker Stock, I am going to have to figure a way to mount a suitable Bypod.

It’s a recon gen I, we use that rifle for some hunting situations It’s small than the terminator but the terminator would be a better choice for dedicated long range, it has more power. That 40mm tube is big but it doesn’t take up as much real estate as you would think. Optics are amazing, built like a tank, lots of vertical and it tracks! Is that the Valdada Terminator?
