You read that right. I read lots of threads here and see some beautiful rifles that shoot as good as they look, but there has to be some shooters on here that have great shooting rifles with out the price tag. Even my most expensive build to date with out a scope wouldn't have cost as much as most of the custom actions out there. I think I had close to $1200 in my .22-250AI before the scope. So lets see your budget rifles, here's mine
Stevens 200 action. (Bought the entire rifle and sold the stock and barrel) $210 total investment
A&B 24" stainless fluted .22-250 1:14. Bought used for $110 shipped
B&C Medalist Stock. Bought used for $125
Leupold 2pc base and rings. Bought used for $15
BSA 36x scope. (scares me a little how reliable this thing has been) Bought used for $50
Rifle is not bedded and only has an older 3 screw savage trigger installed. Total investment to date is $510. With a 50gr Nosler BT over 30.2gr of IMR 4895, OAL of 2.354" all stuffed in winchester brass it has shot a best 5 shot group of .158" CTC at 100yds. Mid 2's are normal for me and my abilities.
