Budget precision-ish primer seating for under $60...

Yea they work nice. Upgrade the locking nut to a split nut (hornady ect) makes fine depth adjustments simple. Seats primers easier than any hand / bench model. Also makes your a4 ram adjustable to match your other presses. Swap dies with no changes.

Yeah, I usually toss out the RCBS lock rings with alacrity... However figured it would be fine here because it should be a one time set and forget. All my future adjustments should be changing the .006" shim maybe up or down a few thou.

Good video, much appreciated you sharing it. I've seen this setup before and it seems to work well. One thing I've seen others do to speed it up is to use the RCBS hand tool and lightly seat the primers, then do final seating on the press.

I like to hand prime by feel for precision rifle reloading.

Maybe they redesigned them, but I went through about 4 RCBS hand priming tools that were made out of "pot" metal wherein the handle would fatigue and break after a few thousands priming's. So about 20 years ago I purchase a Sinclair hand priming tool - it was well worth the investment.

If you have many years of reloading ahead of you, buy a quality hand primer tool such as the Sinclair Tool. It will last you a lifetime then some. One and done!

For hunting or fun shooting it is OK, but how would you have time to do it at a match?
As Tyler above said.. Seat the primers long using your speedy seater of choice, and then you could finish seating later with the ram prime. Not sure if this would work at a match though as I've never been to one...
