Budget 30BR bullet options

Just looking for some alternatives for cheaper bullets. I have plenty customs, but sometimes I like to just shoot steel or punch paper at various yardsges from 100-400 yards and don't want to waste those precious customs on such tasks

Anyone ever shoot the 115gr sierra? How's the 125 Speer do out past 100? Any other suggestions?
I have a 17 twist Krieger.

I used the 110 gr. Sierra and 110 gr. Nosler both are varmint bullets blowing out brass with good accuracy. Also used the 125 gr. Speer TNT with better accuracy. According to popular discussions the 1 - 17 twist will perform better with the lighter weight bullets but I've seen great accuracy with the heavier 125 class bullets with my BR rifle. I shoot the 125 gr. Nosler Accubond in my Rem Model 7 Hunter 30BR 1 - 15 Tw. with 1/4 MOA @ 100 yds. consistently.

Both bullets will shoot pretty well and are much more economical for fire forming and plinking.

The 115 Sierra has more bearing surface and a longer point so in a zero freebore you will loose about 2.5 grains of capacity if my memory serves me correctly. Here’s 5 shots at 400 yards testing the 115 Sierra in my 30 BRK. I haven’t yet done a full load test with these yet, but they seem promising.

Here’s another quick test at 400 yards comparing the 112 Barts X-outs to the 115 Sierra. The Bart’s X-outs shoot very well for me. But as you can see from the target the 115 Sierra is not bad. But remember the loss of case capacity, I think there was better than a minute and a half elevation difference between the two loads. Top 4 shots are the 112 x-outs and bottom is the 115

both loads shot in same conditions using a 10x hold no hold off for conditions.

115 Berger is an awesome “semi-custom” bullet. You can occasionally buy them retail on sale. Or you can find some on this forum from time to time, at gun shows, etc.
You can also buy factory seconds/blems at deep discounts from various retailers. I use them to blow out new 6BR cases to 30BR dimensions in one of my old barrels.

interesting, I didnt know that you could buy blems. When I first got my 30BR I was going to buy 115 bergers, but they were actually more expensive than custom bullets after tax and shipping. Ill keep an eye out for them!

A bud of mine shoots the Sierra 110 Varmints in his 30BR. Always a ragged
hole at 100......I know he uses LT-32 in a 15 twist Krieger.
