bsa martini to centerfire?

i saw a very cool gun at my local gun show. the seller said it was a bsa martini in 22lr single shot. i saw the size and "beef" of the action and thought 22k hornet.

has anyone here done a conversion or know what it will take?

new barrel right off the bat to make sure of bore size etc.
the question revolves around the breach block and the firing pin.
how does one go about moving the firing pin hole?
how does the extractor work and how to modify it for bigger cartridge?
will the action hold up to 22 k hornet?

thanks for entertaining my obsession

Vic Samuels (http://www.martinirifles.com/) does it. I'm not sure of the technical details involved in converting them, however.

I don't have a centerfire one from him (though I've shot a few of his), but I have one in .22LR that he did and it's absolutely gorgeous.

They will take a LOT more than a 22 K Hornet can produce. I had a close friend back in the 60's that had one in a wildcat called ( I think) a 22 Bluestreak...30-30 Win necked down to 22....20" bull barrel. Talk about having a real BARK!...wow
