BSA Martini MKII Restoration/Project #1

Hey gang, I wanted to share the first of two BSA Martini Projects I took on! These are my favorite .22 rifles ever made... anyone who has shot one will attest to the quality and accuracy of them. With that said, I was able really restore this one! IMO it is better than the day it left the factory! I have not seen an MKII better than the one I currently own

The coolest thing about this project is that I did nearly all the work on this rifle.

I did not want to clutter up the entire thread with pictures but, I have the entire project documented. If anyone is interested in seeing it all the way through (prep work, etc) I can just link you over to another forum where the project was originally posted at... Since this was the most accurate .22LR I had ever shot, I wanted to give her new life! Came out better than I expected so, I figured I would share as I am sure a few of you appreciate things like this!

Thanks fellas, a good friend of mine did the Final finish on the wood. I was able to sand it and prep it, he finished it. No clue on how or what all was used. Seeing that he does woodworking for a living, I doubt he will share his tricks with anyone:) I'll ask!!

It looks like automotive clear coat to me. I just did a couple stocks with it they come out beautiful with a deep finish look. Very durable but it would not be my choice for a wood stock with any checkering, it would ruin it.

Beautiful! I love the Martini's. I have a Cadet rebore and chambered for .357 Magnum. Unbelievably accurate, low recoil/noise and a proverbial wand to handle.
