BSA majestic bolt dissasembly

I was trying to remove the cocking piece from a BSA majestic rifle.about 2 turns unscrewed And the cocking piece slipped and went to the fired position and now it seems to be stuck. It will move a little and seems to be pushed downward a bit at end of its slight movement rearward. Any ideas? There is what might be a cocked indicator in top if cocking piece but pushing it doesn't help!

I would post this in the gunsmithing section. There is a chance that one of them has seen one of these in their shop.

The correct way to disassemble, close bolt have it cocked , raise bolt about 1/2 way , install safety as far as you can WITH BOLT HALF WAY UP , remove bolt , carefully unscrew cocking piece with bolt sleeve .
There's nothing special , only thing you need to watch is the 2 piece firing pin assembly like a 1903 . I would try to pull the cocking piece back while trying to install safety .
There is a small detent and spring for the safety , no need to disassemble that , is there ?
They do have STRONG firing pin springs .
Hope this helps
Gary

Turns out that a small piece of the little plastic "cocked" indicator had broken off and was stopping the firing pin from coming rearward. Once that was discovered just had to pull back harder.
