Brux tight bore barrels

I'm getting ready to ordera barrel or two from brux in 30 cal (300 normally mag imp 35). Does anyone have experience with their tight bore barrels that are .0005 tighter?

Back in the olden days...when TR was shot with issued mil spec ammo with indifferent tolerances, it made some sense. It was common to spec bores for the 308 at .3075. I'm sure that current production match bullets don't need the extra help to keep the hot gas behind them.

Not Brux, but years ago I did try some .236 Kriegers in 13.5 twist for my 6PPC’s.

the groove diameters were still dead on .243.

They shot about the same as a .237, so I just stuck with the .237 since the .236 was a special order.

The tight .30 caliber barrels became popular with the US Palma team when they were forced to shoot military ammo which had undersize bullets in the world long range competition about 25? years ago. Some still use tight barrels for their Palma rifles, me included, .298/.3075 being typical. Some say you get more pressure with them but I don't see it. I do get a .001 deeper groove which may give me a little bit more barrel life. Otherwise I don't see any advantage in accuracy or anything else.

For what this is worth ?
I shot a straight .284 on First barrel was a Kreiger . My next Barrels are Brux.
My Barrel Fitter states , Kreigers are a little larger in Bore and groove than Brux .

The performance of these two different Barrels . The Kreiger was a Hammer but took almost two grains more Powder to get to the given Velocity . The Brux Barrels shot lights out a almost two grains less Powder ?

I have two more Brux Barrels on order ,

Don
