Brux Barrels Lead Time

I placed an order for a new barrel from Brux today. Really nice people to talk to. I was shocked by the 8 month lead time. Are other companies seeing this length of lead time?

I have my heart set on a Brux so it is what it is, but found it very interesting. Ken indicated the lead time on the 6 groove over he 4 groove was maybe half as they sell six times fewer 6 groove.

I ordered with the 4 groove.

It seems to say a lot about the company and the quality of barrels that they produce.

Edit: Is there a difference in performance between the 4 and 6 groove in the .308 Win?

Brux told me 4500 barrels behind working 6 to 7 days a week, business is good

In May Hart barrels was right at 3 1/2 months and they were right on the money as far as time went. I don't know the lead time as of now.

Brux probably has one of the better lead times. It's been crazy. That's why I order a lot. Try to have some in stock. But its hard.
I am ordering the barrel for myself so only ordered one. Had thought about calling back and changing the quantity to two. Couldn't hurt to have a second barrel in the wings just in case. Wonder how long I would have to make that change without changing my place in the queue?

I guess living about 40 min's drive from Brux has it's advantage. I just walk in and go straight to the barrel bin and find one that I want and pay for it and done.

They have a bin that has all the barrels that customers have cancelled the orders on. Their sold at a lower price. So far I have not been disappointed.

Went to Bartlett barrels a couple years ago.
Did the same thing and picked up what I needed.
Now most inventories are full of odd ball stuff.
As @Papa Charlie said, kinda hard to drive to Wisconsin from WA.
And I'm sure he asked if they had one in stock.

I ordered 2 back in March. Then I went up to visit family in July. I stopped in to visit the guys at Brux. I used to live about 10 miles away, and know the guys there. At that time, they told me that they were still working on the orders from last November. Then they told me that I should have called them ahead of time, that I was coming up. They would have slid my order in with similar barrels while they were set up. I wasn’t in a hurry because I’m also waiting on an action and stock. So hopefully my order from March will be shipped soon.
