Bruno Shooters Supply

I'm a weekly or bi-weekly local customer . And I came to the realization that Bruno's was my primary supplier the day I went to Sportsman's and Cabela's and they had removed all the NON-HUNTING bullets from their shelves . If I need it , I need it . Try to buy to keep from being "out" of something , but no hoarder either . Till the pandemic buying , and all the shortages , when I compared prices , Bruno's was the same or less after I added shipping , even with taxes added . They were there for me when I needed them , even though some items went up , and if I didn't want to pay that much ? I waited for it to come down . Rather have em , and not need them ......than need them and not have them . Think about that for a minute .

I have bought from Bruno's many times over the last 15 to 20 years. In person and over the web. Stocks,barrels,bullets,brass,powder.... Everything except actions and complete rifles. Never have had a problem with any transactions whether picked up in store or shipped. Yep some things were shipped in "baggies" but no problems. A bushing in a plastic bag shouldn't need instructions IMO. IF you do not like the prices don't buy. You make/made the choice. If their prices are higher than somebody else's go somewhere else. It's called shopping!! I have bought many times where their prices were lower than others! #2 Shi-ping happens. Don't like it, buy local. Nothing local? Then pay shipping and don't complain. Sorry no easy answer. In short if you were to ask me I would give Bruno's a thumbs up. 4 1/2 star rating from me.

Been dealing with Bruno’s for years. His son Jason is a nice guy and always helpful when I drop by. It’s nice to go into a shop and have a selection like he has for the hand loader, competitor. He can get a bit outrageous at times and other times he prices are as good as anywhere else. I hope they stick around for a long time, I have found Items I really needed there multiple times.

I have purchased, Barrels, powder, & bullets from this establishment.
No bad experiences with any.

They appear to very diligent about updating their website, and sending (e)mail notices than others.

They are a relatively small operation compared to others, so shipping does seem to take FORever, but patience is your friend. Heck, even Midway with all their upgraded shipping procedures and mechanism(s) takes FORever as well.

How long until you get shipping notification on you order?

As others have said, Bruno's is a small operation. When you get a shipping notification from them it really means that the order is on the way, not like some of the big boys where all a shipping notification means is that the order has made it to the shipping department computers and the shipper notified of the pending package.

I have had good results with Brunos. As I do with everyplace I buy from, if the price is not to my liking I look elsewhere. I would hope they are in business for many years.

I have bought quite a bit of stuff from Bruno's going back quite a while - at least 15 years. I have five rifles that I had Lester Bruno build for me. His prices on components varies like the stock market- based on availability - but they are good, honest folks that have never done me wrong.

I like them a lot. Years ago in the store a bought 1000 lapua 6br cases. I drove home 100 miles away, when I opened the the lapua cardboard box there were only 9 blue boxes, I was 100 cases short. Called them up spoke to Jason, he overnighted the missing 100 cases, no push back. He didn't know me, I had not done much business with them before. He took my word for it. Try that with some big corporate outfit. What separates a good business from the rest of them is how they handle thing when it occasionally goes sideways.

I believe it was 2012 or 2013 the last time I ordered from him. I was charged nearly double hazardous material cost of other places on the internet, quite expensive shipping, and a premium for the components I had ordered. The extensive shipping charges weren't listed at check-out, rather it was a much lower "estimate". I ended up paying nearly double going price for the components I ordered between the premium and shipping charges. There never was an explanation for such extensive hazmat being charged vs other vendors. I haven't purchased from Bruno since then. I usually look other vendors first and honestly can't remember visiting the page since. I just don't like surprise charges.

Prior to that, I had made several orders for barrels with no issues.
Sir, We ALL pay the same fees. They are regulated to both UPS and Fedex. We charge you what we get charged and if someone is charging less then it is built into the price of the item or they are eating it. You can verify this by visiting both websites of UPS and Fedex for their fee schedule.

That’s not what I was charged and the overall purchase was more than having ordered the same powder a few months before hand at another vendor, both “hazmat fee”, shipping, and the price of the product.

We should just keep in mind that we can actually go inside Bruno’s and see and compare everything. Never been rushed out. Even with Covid lines. That’s worth a bit. As for actions, barrels and stocks on hand, those three big manufacturers I’m thinking of don’t have more product on hand, themselves.

So you had a bad experience. Well, well, well. It happens. I have had a lot of what could be construed as bad experiences for some of the best companies in the business.

Instead of making public complaints, you might get better results if you made a phone call and voiced your complaint to a real person. Most companies do not want their customers feeling like they have been stung by a bee. They will either make it right or explain their reasoning.

I think it is in poor taste to broadcast these things, at least until you have made an effort to work things out. What I see here is the overwhelming comment praises Bruno's. Further if you don't like the price then don't buy it. Remember all things to do with firearms are in short supply and if the price is higher than normal and he has it when no one else does, he has to make a profit to stay in business.

I do a lot of business with Blue Collar Reloading. His supply has shrunk to the point I am afraid he will be forced out of business.

Wake up folks. What we do requires a host of products. If I have to pay more for reloading supplies, to continue shooting a few times a week, I will man up and pay the price. Are you going top stop shooting because primers are out of sight in pricing. Not me.

I pretty much agree with you, but in his defense, the op asked for opinions and experiences. He didn’t ask for only positive feedback.
