Bruno double 00 Bullets

Any loading advise for 6mm Br lapua brass.28" Kreger 13.5 twist using Lester bruno 68gr Double 0 boat tail bullets?

Unless you have some T powder you can't do what Lester does with his Double O bullets. Next would be 8208 which lot no idea. N 133 would be next good luck finding some. The powder I would suggest would be 2015. How much check a manual.
Come back and tell us what you did.

You can use 8208 or T. Acouple of thou of the lands and light neck tenison. Lester is using T or 8208. You might try H-322. Neck tenison should be just where the bullet does not turn in the case. If you use tight neck tenison you will have a tough time getting them to shoot.

Most BR shooters have played with that light neck tension thing. I have found that trying to achieve just enough tension to keep the bullet from moving in the neck is frustrating at best. Several factors go against you here. Each case is an individual and reacts differently to such things as neck turning, trimming, FL sizing dies, sizing buttons, and powder charges. All these things and probably others make for a different scenario each time a case is reloaded. How good are you at inside/outside chamfering your necks after a trim or do you know when to do this during a Match. It is the little things that make for a good time loading at a Shoot or for a bad time when you need to go back and learn BR Loading 101.
The hope of getting light tension for all your cases together is unrealistic. Things like graphite build-up inside the case neck can make you feel like light tension with one case and medium tension with another. The easy solution is strive for medium tension and accept the light or the slightly firm tension when they come about.

Well Steve, Lester does not seem to have any problem with light neck tension and neither do I. I have been at this since 1969 and have some idea about these things. Everybody is intitled to there on way.

Since you have no name good luck to you. I'm sure if you shot that long we have crossed paths. I wouldn't recommend light neck tension to a new shooter. Your comments need to include the newly wed shooters also, hard to get there. But Lester does do well with his own bullets.

You might solicit Jackie Schmidt's advice. He has used Lester's boattails for the last 2 years with great sucess. He kicked our butts this weekend. He uses from 30-31 grains of 133, jammed into the lands and good neck tension.

With the 6 BR, I'd try some N 135. H4895 also should work well with the larger case capacity BR. I used 4895 in a .22 PPC with pretty good results. The .22 PPC is probably about as much overbore on capacity for a 52 as the 6 BR is for the 68 gr bullets. So, you would need a little slower powder for the 6 BR than for the 6 PPC.

While we were at the Super Shoot, Kelbly's had some 133 come in. Jim announced it over the loudspeaker. The line looked like the lunch line. I was standing by Gerry Masker. I decided to check by phone at home rather than stand in line. I saw Gerry later and asked if was able to get any powder. He did. The place I called said they were supposed to get it in this week, so will drive up and get some powder when it comes in. By the way, I asked Tom later how long the 133 lasted. He said they sold out in 5 minutes. Since Hodgdon is now the importer of Vitavourhi, I imagine that supply problems will be in the past.

I have been shooting Bruno 00's in my 6PPC for going on three years. I have done OK with them.
I also chambered up a 13.5 twist .237 4-groove Krieger Rail Gun Barrel with my own 6BR Reamer,,.269 neck, .050 throat,), and tested it with the Bruno 00.
Without getting too specific, I used enough 135 to push it around 3450, jamming the bullet the same as with my 6PPC. That being, visually seeing the marks twice as long as they are wide.
Accuracy was about as good as it gets, just about on par with a 6PPC, but not quite. In any venue except Registered 100-200 yard Benchrest Competition, it would surely hold it's own........jackie
