Whats a good powder for these rifles in 30-06 and 308 ? Iv never loaded anything for a automatic

I think the BAR is pretty forgiving on powders. Most any load out of the manuals work fine. They don’t have the issues the M1A/Garand had with certain powders being preferred over others.

Wonder if varget would cycle a auto loader? 4895 was a good one for m1 grand but it's not as tem stable

Have a Cortina or Harrels Tuner brake put on it!

Problem is finding someone to thread the barrel .

That's very interesting. I wonder why ?
The 30-06 is a 10 twist but the 308 is a 12 twist .. im set up to handload 308 already. But wonder if the 12 twist would prefer the light 150 or 165gr bullets?
Only reason I wanted the 30-06 is it's just a caliber we always hunted everything with growing up , kinda a nostalgic thing I guess

Apparently it changes the barrel "tune"
