Browning Buckmark

Is the Buckmark a good pistol? Is it accurate and reliable? I am thinking of buying one. Thanks for the opinions.

Probably my favorite .22 pistol! I always carry it in my range bag and shoot it weekly at the range. Accurate enough to shoot tennis balls at 50 yards with iron sights. I should add I am not a great pistol shot but this one makes me look good.

They have been great for me too. Good trigger out of the box, accurate, good sights, no feeding issues, easy to break down and clean. No cost mod to flip the sear spring for a very light trigger. Only thing to watch are the top screws - can shoot loose - but I think newer models are not prone to that.

I have the bull barrel with a red dot. I have shot for groups several times with friends with Rugers, which are good guns also. I have never lost. Usuall at 25 yds couple of times at 50. Mine also has a really good no creep trigger.

2nd on the top screws working loose. Purple loctite (not blue, not red, but the purple small thread variety) will solve this and not ruin the gun.

2nd on accurate. @ 50 yards w/4x scope, the one I had rivaled a friend's Anschutz Silhouette. PMC Match (can't recall if it was pistol match or rifle match) was heads above the best ammo.

2nd on them being fun to shoot. With a red dot my family members argued over who got to shoot it first.

Mine has been an excellent shooter since I bought it many years ago. It's my go to plinker.

Oh, and don't take the grips off unless you know what parts are there and how to put them back.
Fortunately, I studied that before hand. I have two (consecutive serial numbers) so I swapped out the grips and barrel on this one.

Haven't shot mine in a long time. I shot silhouette with it and did fairly well. Went prairie dog hunting with it one day with a neighbor, who was using a 9422 rifle. He laughingly bet dinner on who could get more and I said "you're on".
Free dinner was pretty good

Its a great gun. Get it and have fun. Way way way better than what most people get when they are looking for a 22 pistol - like the sr22, or mp, or any plastic one for that matter.

Just buy it. I own a late model Silhouette Buckmark. Very good rim fire.

i have a 5.5 inch bull barrel that was gold anodized. bought it several years ago,,,,,,,, great feeding and shooting.

Absolutely yes on all accounts. Lots of aftermarket parts and OEM parts are always available as well.

I have the old varmint edition with 9-7/8” Bull barrel. Extremely accurate pistol. With regular cheap American Eagle ammo, sand bag rest, and no wind, I can keep most of my rounds within a circle the size of a softball at 100 yards. And that’s with a holographic sight, no magnification.
