Browning B 78

I'm looking at one in 6mm Rem. Mainly for casual target shooting and up to deer size game. I would like to hear from members that have/had one for their experience.

Had one for years in 25-06. Loved it. Particularly liked the ability to choose ejection. Left, right, straight back and sits there. 3 shot groups are very good. It is a hunting rifle and I wind up unfairly comparing accuracy to my bench rifles. Now I have to go from memory....beautifully blued octagonal barrel. Great looking wood especially for a factory rifle. And maybe the rear scope mount is on the receiver and the front on the barrel and again maybe a 5 shot group the point of impact was changing as the barrel heated up. And again I say maybe but I do not think I am mixing that up. My problem was in comparing apples to oranges regarding accuracy and 5 shot groups.......I should have tried to lug a bench rifle through the fields.....would have given me a greater appreciation for that B78!

HAD ONE IN 7MM-08 AND WAS A VERY NICE RIFLE GREAT HUNTING RIFLES ALSO

Still have mine in .25-06. Never shot anything but factory ammo. Three shot groups under a half inch; when I bother. Box of ammo lasts a long time because in South Texas; mainly under 400 yards, I only have to shoot once. Yep, it’s a keeper that will pass to kids and grandkids!
