Browning A Bolt trigger?

I have a friend looking for an aftermarket trigger. Timney doesn't have one. He says Jard has one, but he knows nothing about them. Are they any good or do you know of another brand?

Butch, my limited Jard experience is limited to the four I have in my Cooper rat rifles. Each one has the Jard fitted with 10 oz. trigger springs, and after almost 20 seasons in the field I'd not change a thing.

I've got Jewel's in my M700's, and by comparison I have no issues with the Jard's in any way.

I put a Jard trigger on an A-Bolt that I owned several years ago. It wouldn’t compare to a TT Diamond, which is what I generally put on Remingtons / clones, but that is just personal preference and not a statement on Jard quality. Regardless, it was night and day better than the factory trigger.

At the time Jard was the only company making aftermarket triggers for Brownings…sounds like that is still the case.

That is probably the case.

Butch, a gunsmith that’s competent with triggers can get a nice crisp pull with an angle change and some spring work. I’ve done probably 50 of them over the years when I worked in shops. But I know a lot guys would rather just swap it out for new one.

I stick to Remmy and Winchester, but favor the Remmy trigger
I have worked on 1 X-Bolt trigger (A big PITA since it was designed to NOT BE user disassembled, also having a cheap cast Aluminum housing etc etc.)
If the A Bolt is anything like an X bolt
Anything will be better, get it out of there. lol
Jard should be great, I like Jards, They're not a Jewell, but they feel fine to me for their price.
Every bit as good as say, A Shilen
( I have only used JARD set triggers though), I like them better than a Canjar)

The A Bolt is a completely different trigger. I’ve done a bunch of X Bolt’s. They aren’t difficult and come out quite nice.

Roger that
The X bolt I worked on came out fine, no problem there
but to completely get every little part apart, and work the sears etc.
required breaking the Alum housing, then ordering a new housing
( I was not ----- "simply adjusting" the trigger)
Like all my triggers I do a full and complete disassembly, finess, hone, stone, angle, etc trigger job

I’ve never broken one. You just have to figure them out. Not bad once you understand how to work on them.
