Browning A-Bolt Trigger Spring Kit - Bingo!!

I've been fiddling with my buddy's A-Bolt lately, and one of the things he wanted was a lighter trigger. My trigger gauge showed a 3.75 lb let-off, which I don't think is too bad for a hunting rifle. Not good enough for my pard though. He ordered up a Timney Spring replacement kit from -- Idunno where, and asked me to install it. The kit had two springs, and I used the lighter of the two. Piece of cake to install. When done the let-off was 1.75 lbs. Tested out safe, with no slam-fire, or butt impact failure. Pretty sweet feel and an easy fix. :) jd

They don't last. I've had complaints from several customers. They find 'um on-line and buy 'um, then, after awhile they start getting poor or "iffy' sear engagement and unintentional fires. I won't recommend this 'kit'. By the way, I won't hunt with a 'buddy' that has or thinks he needs less than a 2 1/2# trigger pull on a hunting rig. If ya' can't shoot a crisp 2 1/2-3# trigger on a hunting rifle I would suggest it's not the triggers fault.

I had one installed on my Browning A Bolt about 9 years ago. Using the adjusting screw I set my trigger to break at approx. 2.5 lbs and have had no problems.

The old A Bolts have terrible triggers in my opinion, largely due to the thick curvature. However my varmint stalker is one of the most accurate factory rifles I ever purchased so I've learn to live with the less than optimum trigger.
