Brownells returns

I had a plastic bottle of their house brand bluing solution shatter when I tried to open it.
Sent them photos of the broken bottle, still partly full, and my cut hand.
They said they would not be replacing it. So much for their forever warranty.
Haven't purchased anything from them since.

Returns at a Glance/ FAQ

What products are NOT eligible to be returned?
Due to regulations and safety consideration, ammunition, gun powder, primers, most liquids, and other ORM-D and Hazardous items are not returnable.

Have you contacted your credit card company???? That is the best possibility for getting the issue resolved.

Before returning the item, did you contact them?
Have you attempted to talk with them about the refund?
I assume you have a tracking number for the item you returned and can prove that you sent it and that they actually received it?
If you have made every effort to settle this, then I would call them one more time to settle this and find out what issues they may have. If that fails to resolve, then document everything you have done, dates, emails, phone calls etc and contact your CC company and see what they can do in this matter.

I looked at their website, there is nothing saying you have to have an RMA to return items, You can return up to 45 days after receipt and I see no restrictions other than for special order items, ammunition, powders, and firearms.

Papa, my wife checking in with MC would be a option. She is in charge of managing the bills. I will see what she thinks. Bottom line, this is just a pissing contest.
Thanks for the suggestion,
Ben

I am not as casual about my money as you are apparently. If they owed me a $1000 and had refused to refund it I would have been on the phone to the C/C company immediately. In much less time than you have taken to post and reply here you could have had the payment frozen until it was resolved - yes, it does require a bit of paperwork but for a $1000 I would do a lot of paperwork.

Good luck.
