Brownells Booted from YouTube

Business in America is growing to the point that they are going to work to take away our liberties. Google is simply one huge data gathering spy. So, stay away from Google, stay away from Youtube, which Google owns, dump Facebook, and think twice about buying through Amazon, because they will take their turn in the future. Let these people see that people who support and live the Second Amendment can have a powerful economic impact. Keep your money local and let people who live in your community make a living too.

Full30.com isn't too bad as a new site for gun videos. If I were Brownells, I would be there.

Don’ Know what to say but , Look Out ..

They have the school Kids , Then Media , Hollywood, Church Groups and 90% of the Democratic Party .

They are getting in position to do us Harm ??

The Brownell You Tube channel is not shutdown. It is up and running just fine. Go to Brownell's website and watch their videos until your heart is content.

It was definitely banned. However -- good news. The Brownells Channel was restored late this afternoon. At about 6:10 pm central Brownells announced:

Brownells' YouTube account has been restored!

We CANNOT thank you ALL enough for your shares, reposts, retweets and positive comments!

We are beyond proud to have the finest group of customers and supporters anywhere.

Thank you again!

It was banned starting about 2:00 am Saturday. Hence our story we released....

Someone at YouTube lifted the ban sometime this afternoon.

This feels like a violation of our civil rights. What happened to freedom of speech? It seems to me that we would be better served to eliminate violent video games instead of harmless reloading videos.
Or stop making songs about rape and drugs. We sensor the word shit but make porn music videos with all sorts of drug references that are specifically designed to target the youth. But hey at least I have to pay a million dollars and wait for 5 years before the government maybe lets me buy a suppressor.

.

Actually it has nothing to do with civil rights, or freedom of speech.
It's a decision by a property owner about how they choose to utilize their private property.
While I don't think much of Youtube's decision to go after firearms related content, it is their right to do so.

Would you wish for any of the gun banners to force their way onto this forum against the wishes of the forum owners, and demand propaganda articles be posted?

The Constitution recognizes and acknowledges the rights of people (and Youtube, like this forum's admin, is but a collection of people) to be protected from gov't interference and oppression. It's (original intent, at least) function is not to control the free, and voluntary interactions between people.
Be thankful Youtube has the right to control their content.

The last time that I checked, it is legal to buy and sell guns in the United States of America. The freedom of speech is — by definition —a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation, censorship, or sanction.

Also, civil rights are a class of rights that protect individuals’ freedom from infringement by governments, social organizations, and private individuals. They ensure one’s ability to participate in the civil and political life of the society and state without discrimination or repression.

Our civil rights ensure protection from discrimination in many areas. Just a few of these are: thought, speech, and freedom of association. We can debate this topic for days, but we all know what is going on here. It is a form of retaliation and censorship, and I would even argue — sanction. YouTube must have reconsidered their stance, because as of this moment, the videos are back up. To me, that speaks for itself.

Even if a gay couple wants to get legally married a guy that owns a bakery doesnt have to bake them a cake because its his store and he can refuse service to anyone he wishes. Same with youtube- its their bakery and if they dont want brownells cake business they dont HAVE to take it. THIS time they were pressured to make that cake and caved in but that doesnt mean they will in the future. They want to take down reloading videos but leave illegal videos like making bombs and “silencers”- maybe they should police that content a bit better

I closed my FB account due to the ever increasing discoveries that they sold and continue to sell personal contact and social media data to any and all comers with a check book. Always wondered how they made money and now I know. Same with YouTube. They have to make money somehow. There is no need for anyone "of the gun" to post on YouTube. It's just convenient and easy.

At the the end of your paragraph you left out the most important words: ...' from the gov't."

Yes, you have rights to express yourself, but not in my house, should I choose not to allow it.

And I presume you would be comfortable with one of the Bloomberg astroturf organizations - Mom's demand Action, etc posting all manner of propaganda on this forum?

Like Youtube, this forum is someone's private property.
You're confusing private property with the public square.
Something Im quite sure you'd understand if it was your private property.

Can you do and say whatever you choose at your place of employment, or even within your family without fear of retaliation, censorship, or sanction?

Freedom of association requires at least 2 freely involved parties.
Anything else is a form of slavery.

Does Youtube have the right to freely associate?
Can you force your wishes to 'freely' associate on them?
Can they force their wishes on to 'freely' associate on you and force you to watch the videos they choose for you to watch?

Youtube has no more of an obligation to accept your videos, than you have an obligation to watch Youtube'.

That is free association.

ya because they stole intellectual property and operated at a loss of millions upon millions until they developed a monopoly on videos. Now they have a monopoly they'll start flexing more and more power. Same 5 rich people at the top of all these large companies. Slightly exaggerating here but not really.

This man is right.

In a world where all media is "owned", there are no Constitutional rights of free speech. Oh, talk about the mother of all backfires, as the conservative pundits were basking in the light of "privatization" of everything to make us more free... Of course, the pundits work for the owners... There is nothing conservative about trillionaires owning everything.

Monopoly capitalism is the new communism. New boss, same as the old boss.

You’d prefer what, government-controlled media?
