Broken TRG42 trigger

KINDA-NEW-GUY

Proud Armenian from TEXAS
I have an early model Sako TRG 42 with the 1-12 twist barrel. This thing is my safe queen. Only had 4-500 rds down it.
So about 2 years ago, the trigger took a dump on me in the middle of an elk hunt in New Mexico.
Yes, I know how to correctly adjust the trigger, I've done it a few times before.
And I've been going back and forth with the beretta guys, and basically it comes down to them saying "sorry, the guns 12 years old, go buy another trigger".

Now am I just being Nancy because they refuse to fix the top shelf gun they manufactured?

I'm basically at a point where I'm sick and tired of this POS rifle that's about as useful as a feeder leg, unless you like a 18lb trigger pull.

Do I just give up and sell the damn thing with a broke trigger and spend the money elsewhere, or break down and spend $500 ish for a new trigger.

Thoughts, suggestions....All welcome.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at that trigger a while ago, don't think it will quite work.
The TRG triggers have a safety inside the trigger guard, and have a housing they "pin" into. Also there are no holes for the pins for the trigger housing, or the safety/bolt locking mechanism. I'd hate to do some garage gunsmithing and have it not work, and be out $350 for a "maybe".
I totally understand that if you buy high performance guns, you gotta pay to play, much like owning a Ferrari. But I feel like something like this is quite unacceptable from this quality of firearm, and manufacturer. I've found some other people that have had the same problem, and only one of them was "fresh" enough or sako to bite the bullet and replace the trigger/firearm. The rest have just been dead ends.

Never owned an expensive sports car I see . Pretty much the same , they make you feel like $.02 when you complain it should be covered under warranty . I have felt your pain .

@Ggmac

I have. I've owned 2 BMWs that I would track all the time at willow springs in California. And mom had a lingenfelter on her ZO6. But I just never recall having to spend 20-30% of what they're worth to make them drivable again.

Just stuck between a rock and a hard spot. The gun shot great when it worked, but it is worth another 500 to get her up and running to shoot it a few rds a year. I know I know, it's my choice to make. Just trying to find out what the best choice is, or if there's another one.

So why is Remington backctracking all these recalls and trigger issues they have? Regardless of who the owner is, and how long their warranty is.

I'm sorry I'm not dumb enough to blow my foot off, or accidentally kill someone because I don't use a gun with a malfunctioning trigger, and turn around and sue someone for it.
There's obviously a problem with these triggers, that's why they came up with a "NEW" improved model. And that's why there are other people having similar problems with them.
Mostly the problem is, trying to navigate and correspond with ANYONE at beretta. Honestly some of the worst "customer service" I've personally experienced. One gentleman legitimately was helping me out, gave me his number and extension, called back the next day... and got a "not valid extension" message.

It does not have a safety, but is a sweet trigger, e them and ask to make sure it fits,

Just read your post, I have an even older TRG-41, still working fine. Might check Brownells to see what they have for factory parts available. Hope this helps.

This is a recall. Remington has had a gazillion lawsuits over the safety of their triggers. It's not about broken triggers. Apples to oranges here..

How did the trigger get broken? I have a TRGS and it has taken a bunch of abuse and has held up fine.

I don't know how it ended up braking. I made the weight adjustments many years ago, and left then there.
I want to blame it on the sub freezing temps we were hunting in, but this gun comes from Finland. I doubt that's the issue. The first stage function just "broke" and turned into a 18ish pound single stage, gritty trigger

I was curious, as you read here people bashing a Jewel trigger and in the same sentence say I just over pressured it a little and when the primer blew it broke my trigger. Have you opened it up, could it just be a spring or pin or something that could be replaced? Now I am worrying about mine.
