Wow! What a fantastic weekend for a match –weather wise and conditions wise. You would be hard pressed to get better weather to be out on the range with friends! A total of 23 of you apparently agreed with me this weekend!
A big THANK YOU to George and Nikki for taking care of the range for us –did you notice the nice lines heading downrange from the grass cutting? Stats/results quickly put out so you know where you stand? That would be Nikki and George –please let them know you appreciate their efforts (coffee works well for Nikki J ).
A second big THANK YOU to everyone who helped setup and teardown targets –it was a little more pleasant to do the job because of the nice weather, but it is still work and much appreciated by me.
A big Bridgeville welcome to Ashley McNair who shot her first ever match this weekend! Well done, Ashley –you done good! Mike McNair (her 'better half' ) has been a great ambassador to the sport, bringing in new folks on a regular basis. We sure need to reach out to our acquaintances and make them shooting buddies, so think about trying to talk a co-worker, friend, or even –dare I say it, a spouse to come out and see what we are all about. Ashley, I hope you had fun, and will join us again soon.
OK, enough of my drivel –on to the results! Results are attached, and should be good to go, but if not, let me know and I will do my best to fix any errors.
Sadly, we only had three F-T/R guys this weekend, but Todd Norfleet sure made his mark, firing a really nice 1198-81X for the category win. Well done Todd! It should be noted that Todd’s score and X-count would put him in third place in
F-OPEN –firing a .308! I wouldn’t be surprised if one day soon he takes the overall in F-Class with shooting like that. It was also good to see Chuck Kozlowski back again after being MIA for a while. Hope you can keep coming on a regular basis.
In F-Open, it was a three-way battle –Mike, Jack, and Herb. Between the three of them, 13 clean scores were recorded over the 18 matches fired –not too shabby! Herb dropped 4 for the weekend, putting up a nice 1196-78X and earning third place. Jack Neith bested that by 2 points and 6X’s posting a super-good 1198-84X for second place. That included a 200-18X. At the end of the day though, Mike Eash dropped only one point all weekend, firing an outstanding 1199-91X! Well done, Mike! (and the rest of youse guys, too).
On the sling side of things, we didn’t have enough rifles to make a Palma class, so the Palma and Any Rifles are combined, but that’s OK as Palma rifles took the first three spots. Joe Fogg tore it up with his .308 Palma rifle, firing a very nice 1197-84X for the weekend. Nicely done, Joe! Joe also fired a 200-18X (with Iron sights) today on his first match. In second place was Matt Zagorski, who chalked up a nice 1196-71X with HIS Palma rifle! Well done, Matt! Proving that even blind squirrels can find an acorn every once in a while, I had a pretty good weekend, coming in third with an 1195-64X with a .223 Palma Rifle. I remember back in the ‘old days’ when a score of 1195 would actually WIN a match… I guess those days are over

.
I hope everyone had a good time this weekend, and I hope you will consider going up to New Holland next weekend for their 3 x600.
For those that don’t know, the Cumberland Riflemen’s New Jersey State Championship match has been re-scheduled for October 5th, so you might want to get up there for that one too.
If you need contact info, let me know.
OUR next match is our Annual Mid-Atlantic Long-Range Regional, which will be held on September 26-28. This match will be a ‘no-frills’ match due to our upcoming hosting of the 2025 F-Class Long-Range Fullbore National Matches. (try saying that fast three times…). But, our September match is still a regional, and should (I hope) be a good time to be on the range with friends old and new.
As always, match results and our schedule can be found here:

See you on the line!
