I just got an e-mail from a friend Brian Bowling, who drove all the way down to Lousianna to shoot. He tied the National record @ 600 with a 200 18X and finished day 1 clean! Get after it Brian and finish strong tomorrow!!

Sounds like your friend is quite a shooter. All but 2 shots are X's is incredible shooting. And you say he shot the day clean also. Do you know what that score is?? Let me be the first to say congratulations to Brian. Man this keeps getting better!!!!

He shot cleans all day for a 600 score, amazing shooting.

Just saw the results posted here, he shot a 600 with 46 X`s.

That is one tuff bunch of shooters at Palo Alto this weekend.
Great shooting Brian.
On another note Walter Stroman set a new senior 1K record of 200-15X
@ Blakely GA today in match 1 of the LR Regional shooting a 6 BR.

Wowser. Nice Job Mr. Bowling.

I hope that was a NRA Registered Match so it counts toward a record and that it is listed as a single Match in the Match bullitin.

I was hoping the same thing! The NRA is very particular about a "match" vs. a "stage" when it comes to national records. They made me re-write the TN F-Class LR State Championship program to account for this, and they had a write-up about the particulars of "match" vs. "stage" in the last Shooting Sports USA online magazine.

Brian shot lights out on Saturday.

Final Scores are listed on this forum.

Yes, it was a registered match and each string is listed as an individual match. So it will be listed in the record books.

Great shooting!!

Thanks for the assist!

All of these folks brought their "A" game for this one! It was a lot of fun.

Great shooting!

I posted a 200-17X last year.......and had no idea I was close to the record. ::)

I witness the whole thing....Brian shot the snot out of the X ring all weekend and all though he may have had a new wildcat cartridge, I think most of it was just pure shooting abilities on Brian's part.

My jaw is still on the floor after driving 4 hours home.

Way to go Brian, hope you have many more great matches like this one to come.

And as far as Rick and Mike, no shooter could ask for a more professional and personable match directors than these two. Thanks for a great regional match and some damn good food!!

great shooting for sure. I do know of a 200-19x shot in a match at lacrosse wi. last year. I think the nra is a little behind on updating their website. maybe bob sebold could help this thread out.
