Do not know if any body can help me, thought I would ask. I have broken two latches on a AR charging handle. Can anybody help? nilebartram

Pushing the charging handle back forward after locking bolt to the rear should not break it nor should letting the bolt go forward with the release when the charging handle is forward. Have you had any hard extractions were you had to "assist" in some way with extraction? Like a technique called "mortaring" or kickstarting? Laugh but guys actually do this regularly and wonder why they break charging handles although I haven't yet seen the latch broke just the main shaft of the charging handle.

Palming the charging handle with a milspec charging handle may cause this if you are rough enough and do the repetitions.

I personally run either a gasbuster on one rifle or the BCM gunfighter charging handle as I like the added length it gives me around scope's and mounts that get in the way.
