brass too large at base

I have re-chambered my 6br with a new reamer
now my old brass is too big at the base where it is solid.
The dies will not fix this problem. The easiest fix would be to buy new brass. There is no extra money in the budget now so I'm trying to find a work around.
The bases right now are measuring 0.4710 and I think that
if they were 0.469-0.470 they would work better.
Has anyone fixed this before.

There are various ways to fix this problem, none is cheap actually:
1)you could use a .45ACP trim die from RCBS, screwed upside down, lube with Imperial Sizing Wax.
2) Or a Small Base .243 Win or .308 Win sizer from RCBS too.
3) Or a .444 Marlin,or .243Win or.308Win) sizer, from Lee,the cheapest solution)cut .5" from the bottom and lathe chamfered for easy operation.
These 3 options will, no doubt about it, excessively resize your bases. Do this only once.

I`ve got the same problem with over 400 pieces of old chamber brass,6br). I might have to try the 308 small base die... has anybody else tried it???

The reamer that I bought was a 6mmbr Remington. What it was reamed originaly, I'm not sure as it was done for me.
Anyway, these brass have had some hot loads from the original chamber and now are too big for this one.

From what has already been said, It sounds like a modified die
will sqeeze the base of the brass smaller. I think in order for this to work the shoulder portion of the die would have to be removed and at least a quarter inch removed from the bottom.

I have an old lee die that I could use to do this if you think this will work.
Thanks

just My 2c

Im thinking on the same lines as 2644ever is

befor i went and reamed your die....i would try one of the larger rifle dies like the 30-06 308 260 243 just to size down the base of your cases...set the die up in your press so that theres a cam over when sizeing and use a fair amount of lube

try it on 5 cases..what ya got to loose

or redding offers a small base die in the 6BR

Actually I do have an old RCBS .308 die that I could use.
I have since thought of another problem. The part of the brass
that is giving me the problem is past the normal travel of the die. It is becouse the case goes into the chamber farther than what it goes into the die. Is this normal? Maybe I need a larger chamfer on my chamber. My old chamber did not have a very big chamfer. It's like I need to make a straight die at .4690 and push the entire brass through it. Am I making any sense?

I have pretty much the same set up except I have a redding .243 win. body die.
The base dim. before sizing is .4705. After sizing it is .4705.
As you can see there is not much change.
With this brass condition if my loads are to the max. in the books then I will have sticky extraction.
