Brass cleaning, question

I read the post re additives to compound and decided to try NuFinish which I added as discussed to some new cobb for my vibrator cleaner that is 25 years old

results great, ? on pistol (and I am sure rifle) brass the cobb mixture sits in the bottom of the case, as the rim is heaviest thus I had to stir it to turn the brass over, tried to vibrate nd the cases all settled rim down, cobb still in, always had this problem,

what do you do to get the compound out of the cases (it was not stuck) just in there.

Take the case and turn it bottom side up and touch the side of the case on the bowell vibrates it right out. The vibrator must be running. Larry

I understand that, however considering doin 400-500 pistol and 150-200 rifle that is a lot of time, what I do now is get the bulk out with the strainer on the vibrator, then take my hands and scoop the brass "turning" it to get the powder out. that takes time and I was looking for something faster.

Air compressor or "air in a can". Myself, I blow ever case out. It can be surprising how many hold some media or media dust, and is one of the reasons I do not use media to clean very often.

Bob get a media separator . Rcbs is good . Larry

Your post is not too clearly but it seems you are implying that the “cob mixture” is heavier and “sits in the bottom of the case.” If that is the situation, I think your mistake is you have not tumble the media with the NuFinish long enough so that the NuFinish is distributed completely evenly through and on all the media BEFORE using it on any brass. When the NuFinish/Cob mixture is homogenously distributed, it will never sit on the bottom but acts like all the media is the same which it should be.

I have used the process for years I never had a problem. But I always mixed the Ne finish before putting the brass in it . Larry

the answer is a media separator, when I spoke of the situation as I currently have it the cases sit base down, thus the media is in them, easy to get out but a pain to do so the way I have been doing it.

thanks of the RCBS separator
