brass cleaning cloth

After purchasing one of the most popular brass cleaning cloths to replace the one I've owned for years (I didn't use the brand name) I decided to make my own. The one I recently purchased was so laden with chemical it fell apart in the first use. Buyer beware. Use a piece of an old t-shirt or whatever and apply some "Brasso" or any silver polish to the cloth. Do not soak the cloth. Apply a bit to the cloth every time you use it till you have an amount on the cloth to do the job quickly and efficiently thereafter. Store the cloth in a zip loc and label and date.

I once used Brasso on a a small cartridge collection and got green spots in short order. My can circa 1991 confirms it contains ammonia. I still have Krazy Kloth from early 2000's -cut it in half and still using the piece I started with. I never let it dry out.

Since my tumbler died a while ago, after I, 0000 steel wool the necks, something I've done forever, I now lightly spray the cases spread on a towel with mineral spirits then wipe them with a Scott Rag. Works terrific, cheap, and cleans the cases very nicely without any harmful chemicals.

Pretty much the same here, except that I spray mine with isopropyl alcohol and I use microfiber rags.
