Brake for .308??

If felt recoil is your only issue, get a Limbsaver pad. Made a big difference in my 12 gauge shooting 3" magnum slugs.
Love their stuff , have many pads both slip on and custom... The factory pad on this rifle is excellent you can shoot it all day..

Was thinking more on the lines of keeping it from jumping once I finish my load for it and go from the bench rest to the bipod.. Its not a bench rest gun its a tactical rifle.

I just sent the bipod back to Harris for some adjustments so I have time to finish the load development for it useing my rest.. I bought it threaded hopeing they lift the restrictions on suppressors..

Take a look at this article if you haven't seen it.

In my opinion, a decent brake should have 3-4 ports on each side and a couple on top to prevent muzzle rise. Ones designed like this one on one of my AR15's usually work well. This one is a cheapie $25 no-name I found on eBay but does a good job, no muzzle rise, it pushes straight back. I've known 3 people that got the Witt brakes for .308's and all loved them.

Harrell's Tactical brakes. $40 work great and you have $100 or more left to spend on other stuff.

What brake do you recommend for a .308 rifle?? Preferably not a huge one like on a .50 cal... Brake is for a savage 10t that I am playing with and has shown superb accuracy. Now I would like to take a little kick out of it..

Thanks in advance...
Shawn
harrels brakes don't cost much but work great. I have them on all my guns!

Your accuracy will probably change for the worse with a brake deflecting gas onto the bullet going through it. You'll need extra hearing protection with brakes.

Add weight to the rifle to reduce recoil.

I've never had a rifle that had diminished accuracy after adding a muzzle brake.
But to be fair, some muzzle brakes could easily affect accuracy negatively if they're not top notch concentric.

Best muzzle brake I have is a Kahntrol Solutions Clamp-on brake on a non-threaded barrel.
It reduces the recoil better than any other brake I have/had.
But at the same time it gives the biggest concussion blast. There is no free lunch.
