Brake design vs rifling

I have been thinking about something and would like some input from you guys.

On the crown of a rifle you will see the power residue pattern relative to the rifling count.

say you put a brake that is ported only out of the sides and you have a 5 count rifling. My thoughts are that you will release slightly more pressure out of one side of the brake at moment the bullet bearing surface clears the crown, and even when the bullet is passing through the brake chambers. An even/odd or odd/even count would have be counterintuitive to accuracy. How ever minuscule it may be I would assume there has to be a difference.

Has anyone tested this?

I make all my own brakes, all radial, with ports matching rifling count (even/even, 5/5, 4/6, 3/6). I have not tested the theory but I think I will start soon. Even length and weight should make for a good control of the test.

what are yalls thoughts?

What if you have a 4 groove and the holes line up halfway on the lands? Do you make one with 4 holes? How about a 3 groove? I think once the gas is in the chamber of the brake it doesnt matter how it gets vented. Ive had brakes with 1 row up top and some with 2. When you unscrew them that pattern is still there

Nightraider got it . The bullet will be out of the brake long before any affect can be "realized" by the barrel . And the gasses following ( pushing ) the bullet will not have had time to enter the brake vents . Watch any high speed film of a rifle firing with a brake installed . Great question for a theoretical discussion in a engineering class , but not really applicable in the real world .

It was just a thought, we go as far as sorting bullets by weight and bearing surface, brass by weight and volume. Indexing barrels and so forth.
Don’t forget about the cold air in front of the bullet that people say will cause pull off with a certain brakes.
Boat tails won’t shoot with flat bases up close, I wonder why?
Thank you for your replies.
