Brake design

I was looking at the brakes on my guns and noticed something. It dosen't matter weather they are a radial (vias type) or a side port....it doesn't matter weather they are on my 6mm or my 338......the port lengths is only about 1 inch long, front to back. Four holes per inch or three ports per inch.

Would a brake with two, three or even four inches of porting be more effective?

Why or why not?

Just thinkin out loud,

It might on your 338 Edge having the length being longer but the 6mm's with alot less powder in the case probably would not benefit having it longer. would be worth trying
