Brake Cleaner vs. Gun Scrubber

So, in reference to my earlier post, https://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/so-how-do-you.4151952/ I didn't see anything about any high-pressure aerosol cleaners being use. Perhaps I missed it if there was. I have used brake cleaner in the past but see that Birchwood puts out "Gun Scrubber" now. I'm sure there are others out there. I really like the simplicity of the brake cleaner and how clean it got everything. Especially with the 10/22's and pistols. Granted you made sure you oiled them back up, due to it stripping every drop of lubricant out! Anyone still using that method? Also, what is the difference between the gun scrub and brake cleaners? Other than one is for automotive and the other specifically for firearms?

To me, Gun Scrubber is less harsh on things like paint. I prefer to use it over the non chlorinated brake cleaner.

I looooove break cleaner! It has its place i have never purchased gun scrubber.
If stuff is carboned up a soak in mineral spirits will remove carbon.
If its safe enough for the US government to use on helicopter engines to remove carbon..its good enough for my guns .
I read an article on it over at AR.com forum about 13yrs ago .. there is a lot of information on the subject.
Give it a peep
