Not sure where to post this - but thought it is something one needs to know when "What to buy" saturates our minds.
I purchased a Henry Long Ranger 6.5 Creedmoor few months ago. Finally got out and shot it. Fired 1st round but I could not eject the shell - the lever was frozen. I took it to a local gunsmith which put a rod down the barrel and hit it, knocking the shell out. He said it was good - go shoot it. I did - same thing happened.
I called Henry customer service (immediate answer). I shared my plight. They sent me a UPS return label. I shipped the rifle back on their nickel. This was 10 days ago (Christmas time). I received it back last Friday - new barrel installed, buffed it inside and out, adjusted the trigger, then shipped it back (free of charge). I think it is better than new - almost a "custom" rifle now!
They made a real impression on me for their warranty service. It's not a flaw slipping through final inspection that bothers me, it is when a manufacture will not fix a flaw (or severely delays fixing it), that bothers me. This was not the case here.
I own several Henry's. This is the first time I have used this service. Almost makes me want something else go wrong with one of my other ones so I can get another one reworked through such "custom" service.
