BR optics

I shoot in paper ground hog matches at 2,3,500 yards and looking for another optic for my factory class gun in 6.5x284. I have a NF Comp on my heavy gun that I love but don’t have the funds readily available to drop $2k on another right now. I’ve had a March EP Zoom, Leupold Mark5 7-35, NF NXS 8-32 so looking at branching out to a cheaper variable. I’ve came across a decent deal on both the Sightron 10-50x60 Long Range and a Sightron 45x45ED. Looking for opinions and reviews of anyone who has shot both or either of these as well as other options in the $1k-1200 process range. Thanks in advance!

Shot Sightron 45x45ED and optics are great. Lightweight and all around perfect choice. Was able to find new for $900 a year ago, but anything under a $1000 new and $750 used is good.
I have also seen Leupold 45x priced used at $800

Find some one with a used Leupold or used Sightron
If your rifle is ok to take more weight and you have mirage often at your shooting venues, you might want to go to a 10-50 Sightron

Of your choices, I would get the 10-50. I use a pre-Highmaster 10-60 March and it is all the scope I need for what I do.

I have both. If the price difference is small, go with the variable. It comes in handy to be able to dial down sometimes. I have mostly used Sightron for competition, and I don’t know if you will see a big difference in the Sightron vs higher price options under low light conditions.

Its no big deal. I twist the AO all the time.

the Night Force 12-42 is heavy for a light gun. How much room do you have for the scale?

I’ve owned and shot at 1000 yards.
Sightron 8-32x56
Sightron 10-50x60
Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60x52
All are good but I would look for the GE used for around $1200

Sightron 10-50x60 Long Range and a Sightron 45x45ED.

I also have both and like both. Adjustments are dead nuts. It is helpful to be able to dial down the power in heavy mirage. Optics are not as "bright" as my buds Nightforce competition.
