I have at least 6 boyds stocks on sporters and have had zero problems.

5 or 6 Boyds.

All exact fit with a little trimming in the corners for the Vanguards. VG has hard corners, Boyds CNC cutter can only go just so small.

2 Walnut "Pro Varmint" for Ruger American Rimfire. Super.

Another old thread, but it says what is on my mind.
I ordered my third stock from them and it came looking not too great. I contacted customer service and they said the disclaimer in the web site says that "Mineral Lines" are to be expected. I did not experience this with the first two stocks.
So, my point is that if you want your rifle to look like a "dream creation" ,I would consider an alternative. I will keep this stock because it will suit my needs. BTW, the last stock, just like this one, cost $129 in 2017. This one now costs $181.
I will enclose pictures so you can see what Mineral lines look like.

I don't believe I've ever seen a laminate that didn't have these mineral lines or lite colored areas in them.

I've never had a Boyds that didn't require some fitting. I've never had a McMillan that required fitting. One is 3-4 times the cost of the other....

My last Boyds the action holes were not drilled the correct spacing and I had to make it work...Rem700, those have never changed.

I kind of assume for their price, some of this is to be expected.
