Boyd's or a MDT chassis for my application?

I recently bought a new Howa 1500 to have built. Going to have it chambered in 7 PRC. It's just going to be a "play around" target rifle. Something I can make new goals to beat my previous best groups or distance. I know everyone's definition of accurate is different. A 1/2 MOA rifle would make me happy.

I'm going to have my Smith install a 26" Hart in either a large Palma or a Sendero contour. Just curious to wether I should put it in a bedded Boyd's Pro Varmint stock or a MDT ORYX chassis?

I'll be honest, I haven't spent hardly any time with a chassis rifle. I know I'm more geared toward a stock, but just because I'm not that familiar with a chassis, doesn't mean I won't like.

Between the two options, with what I'll be doing with the rifle and what I'd like to get out of one, is there any real advantage or disadvantage to either choice?

I restocked a 700 .223 about 2 weeks ago. I used a KRG Bravo instead of an Oryx I was originally going to use. I heard too many reports of the need to slightly bend the cleaning rod to get the rod into the chamber/barrel with the Oryx. The KRG and Oryx are priced similarly. I looked hard at the Boyd's but didn't want the possibility of the need to bed the action.

I really like the looks of the KRG. The only problem is, the Howa version is for a short action only.

I have both the XLR Element and MDT XRS. The XRS is kind of a hybrid between a stock and chassis so I like it a lot and it's relatively cheap. With the cheek rest down, a bore guide and cleaning rod clears easily. That's one of the reasons I like the XRS.

I put the .223 Urbanrifleman barrel in the XRS last winter and finally took it to the range recently to shoot a few 5 shot groups at 100 yards for the first time.

I really like the looks of that and the examples you have given speak for themselves, but just like some other chassis/stocks, they only offer it for the Howa in SA only.

That's what I was wondering. I didn't know if there would be a noticable difference between a properly bedded stock and a chassis or not.
I didn't either until I tried the 1st chassis. I'm not sure it's wood to aluminum difference but more of how your hand/trigger finger engage the trigger. I played with a couple different grips until I found the angle that suits me best.
