Bottom Metal

Hi guys,

Is there bottom metal for a Remington 700 stock that will accept the AI mags AND fit into the standard BDL outline so a guy could conceivably switch between a floor plate for detachable mags and the normal hinged floor plate?

Thanks in advance.

Cant seem to find it either. Maybe they discontinued them. I know they used to make one because I bought and modified one not too long ago. Even made a video showing the mods in my YouTube channel.

This is a PTG with an AICS 338 Lapua mag box

I see PTG is making a dbm that will only accept a certain mag box now. That was never an option when I bought the one in the video.

HS precision makes a nice dbm that fits in the BDL inlet too. Not aics mags, but I think the HS mags are nicer than the AI mags

Use this link but you have to select the product then read the description which is close to the bottom for some stupid reason:

I found it in that link. Don’t remember it being so hard to find before.

Pretty sure this is the one I had in the video. Ended up changing to a BDL bottom metal with Wyatts CFE-12 because the mag length of 3.775 was a little tight for my 300 NMI with heavy bullets seated to the lands.

I have found it that difficult every time I go to solve this or a related problem on that website. It's annoying (aggravating) to say the least. It's not that hard to write an accurate headline and description that doesn't require the customer to spend 15 minutes reading all the product descriptions which don't match their need.

Glad you found the solution to your need. :)

Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but I have an H.S. Precision bottom metal on a 28 Nosler in a
Boyd's AT-One stock that's inletted for Remington bottom metal. It uses AI magazines.

My biggest issue with PTG is not knowing if some of the items are in stock. Some things I can’t wait on and I don’t want to get back ordered for manufacturing times if I can get a similar product somewhere else. If I need to call to check stock on items, then I don’t see any point in having a website that allows a person to purchase items online. Might as well just call in orders every time

Interesting!

I always thought the HS used their own mags.
Thank you!

The only one Ive seen is the Wyatts that fits a BDL. I have one and it works fine but with their magazines only.
