bottom metal advice

I wanted to build a repeater on one of the 700 clones, would appreciate any advice on which clone, which bottom metal. Should I just scavenge a 700 rifle and call it good?
Thanks,Guy

If it's for a nice rifle, you should consider Sunny Hill or Williams floorplates. Both have the nice inside-the-trigger-guard release. I haven't seen any yet, but Dave Kiff at PT&G also makes steel floorplates.

I wouldn't put a Remington floorplate on anything but a stock Remington, unless you're trying hard to keep the cost down and you can find one for next to nothing.

I have a PT&G floor plate on my 6.5X47 Lapua with Stiller Predator action. It is made of high grade aircraft aluminum and is very high quality. If you go with a Stiller Predator you can use either Remington box or a Wyatt's box. Stiller recommends Wyatt since their action is configured to take advantage of the longer Wyatt box.
