boring tool for brakes

What boring bar/holder is good to use for boring out a installed brake to proper diameter that will fit in a .224 pre-bored hole?

I have a really nice carbide shanked grizzly boring bar that fits in a .236 hole. You going .020 over the .224? The bar I mentioned will do it even though the bar is bigger than the hole. The bar will bore its own hole to fit itself. Nice thing with the grizzly, it's carbide shanked and rigid so it can stick out enough to bore entire brake.

I use a Micro100 5/16" shank .230 min hole size 1.6" depth of cut boring bar for the shorter brakes. For long brakes in larger calibers I use a coated 7 flute long depth of cut 5/16" end mill I get from MSC.

This is the best way. It makes it more effective with a chamber inside then a spot like 1/4 long bored to your preferred size over bullet dia

Some may have not caught on to this. Drill expansion chambers from the rear, two is better than one, then bore .020 over bullet dia near the end, this forces a lot of gas out of the brake vs the muzzle. I do this on the Harrells, and they are more effective.
