ROFL, love this thread the posts are on-topic and all over the map but all perfectly valid.
I love having a borescope, it's simply more data and no wondering what's going on in there. I get a new or new to me rifle I can look and capture condition, same with new barrels. Then watch it progress over time and maybe correlate condition to groups opening up as it runs out of life. We'll see. I can see how good/bad my cleaning is and where I need to do more/better. I can see when cleaning is "good enough", meaning some I purposely try to get to a certain point and not past as they like a certain amount of fouling, some a little some surprisingly more. Most of mine are hot 204, 22-250, 220 Swift so it's really nice to look at the throat area and see what's going on, amount of carbon, heat cracking, etc. I knew my super old M77 Swift was mostly done as it had opened up a lot but I didn't know if it was just carbon buildup or actually nasty throat. it was both and honestly I'm still surprised it was still shooting about 1.25" and not 4-5" lol I should post a pic, you'd all likely love it. Thoughts at the time were, is that pavement in there? (massive carbon) How deep are those fissures...
