If storing a rifle at the end of a season I recomend cleaning to bare metal, applying a corrosion inhibitor such as OneShot, store in a dry climate or patch out moisture regularly. Thats a lot of work needed to 90% gaurentee this doenst effect your barrel.

I can definitely see them with the naked eye when I shine a flashlight from the breech end and look at it from the muzzle end. They appear as tiny dots or lines in my case.
Because mine is only in a small area 1-2 inches from the muzzle, I used a thin needle to lightly rub around these wormtracks while looking at it with the borescope with mirror detached. I could not feel any resistance at all and it feels exactly as smooth as any other part of the bore so it's a bit of a consolation. Of course it's entirely possible these do have some depth to it but it doesn't seem to be enough for me to feel it through touch.

That looks like a hammer forged barrel with scratches on the mandrel to me. Why they used it ....... no idea.
