@shoot4fun ... was alot of $ for a rimfire. SSOOO worth it.

If you fully dry patched was any bore tech actually left on the rifling surface?
Dry patched at least once maybe twice honestly I don’t remember. It looked dry. Rust was uniform on entire bore under humid (but not insane) conditions.Forum Boss is specifically talking Boretech ELIMINATOR. This thread is specifically talking Boretech C4 Carbon Remover. FB may have a good eye but maybe you should stay relevant to the thread at hand?
I agree with you. I have been using the BoreTec products since they came out on about a dozen rifles and have never had any issues like others have mentioned. I do use a good bore guide, always dry patch out and continually use my Hawkeye Bore Scope to check out the barrels and never have any problems. I guess if it works for you use it and if not move on to some other cleaner. I think most of this might come down to your individualized cleaning procedures, your environment and how you store rifles. Myself and my rifles are happy with the results so no need to change. Why am I not having these issues?
I’ve posted about this before but here you go. Rusted chamber after using bore tech eliminator. Cleaned the rifle, oiled the rifle, month later removed the oil and went shooting. Got home, put the rifle away fouled. Pulled the rifle out a month after that...rusted chamber. It’s a Savage model 10, yes I have dehumidifiers in my safe, yes the safe is in a climate controlled environment, and no, no other firearms in the safe have rust. I don’t use BT anymore.
This seems like a typical correlation vs. causality discussion. Those are two different things. "Correlation" means it happenned while using Bore Tech products. "Causality" means the Bore Tech products caused it.
Proving both correlation AND causality would require more than just a small sample size of testing. Significantly more than the anecdotal evidence I've read, here. Much of the anecdotal evidence provied here is actually in conflict with other anecdotal evidence provided here. Who do ya believe?

Does Shooter A choke that chicken? This.^^^^
Shooter "A" shoots new world record. Says he sacrifices a live chicken before every match. Claims live chicken sacrifice "works". Price of chicken goes up.
Does Shooter A choke that chicken?
Just need to know the exact sacrificing procedure.

Correlation vs causality in accurate shooting is likely the #1 cause of bickering in gun forums.
People find something that worked for them and then insist it is an absolute universal 100% effective method for everybody everywhere else at all times and if anybody dares disagree with them (even citing their own personal first hand experience), they insult and attack.
Here *is* a 100% universally true fact ... your barrel is different than mine. So differences in performance and cleaning methods are not out of the question. They might be the same. Maybe .... or they may be different...
What I gather from this thread is , some folks clean their guns and put them away dry with no oil in them . I have a friend who does this during the shooting season, says barrels are stainless doesn't need anything . Sounds not smart to me. Like most threads this one made a turn but hopefully some will benefit from it. Steel needs protection.
IOSSO is a polish. Polishing the barrel seems like a bad idea.
I have seen none of these issues myself eitherWhy am I not having these issues?
