Bore tech C-4 vs. Wipeout.....Or?

I'm looking for the most effective carbon remover for my bore 's throat and flash suppressor\brake. Which product have you found works best? Also, JB or Iosso, or Chameleon? Thanks for your input guys!

Bore Tech C4 with a bronze brush is the best carbon remover I've ever used.

Even though Bore Tech specifies the use of a nylon brush, I prefer the extra mechanical action of a bronze brush which I believe help prevents formation of a carbon ring.

BoreTec is my go to carbon cleaner. I have used Flitz green and a tight nylon brush with a patch atttached to remove a really bad carbon ring on a friends rifle and a lesser one on one of mine.

I usually use Boretech, but I ran out and needed a quick fix.

The short of it is that Wipeout accelerator followed by Tactical wipeout made for much faster cleaning.

Still got the BT copper remover but hardly any blue in the patch.

C4 and bronze brush every cleaning...after every 100-150 rounds, short stroke throat and 5-6” past using Iosso.

Just want to point out that there is a huge difference between normal carbon in the barrel and the hard carbon ring at the end of the chamber neck. Different things entirely.

The person that comes up with a chemical to easily remove the hard carbon ring will have invented a better mousetrap and all precision shooters will beat a path to his door.

GSPV how right you are. Until that product is developed and available I'll do everything I can to avoid getting a ring again ever.

For stubborn carbon deposits and the carbon ring that I cannot remove with my normal routine (BT Eliminator and JB) I have used CLR. The stuff flat out works with minimal effort. You really don’t need to remove the carbon ring completely anyways in my eyes.... it rarely causes an issue except in your head.

How do you guys figure out you have carbon (or anything for that matter) that isn't being removed with your normal routine? Borescope?

Maybe I should get one. Any recommendations? Seems like there is the Lyman ($189 on Amazon or $299 at Midway...) or a whole pile of money.

I went with the Lyman. Just be aware that there is the original version that came out a few years ago, and a newer hi(gher) res version that came out roughly middle of last year. That cheap one on Amazon... might not be the newer version. The older one (what I have) works well enough for viewing, but the resolution of video/images is pretty low - something like 320x200 px or so. Again, it looks okay viewing on the screen, but captured images... suck. If you plan on doing more viewing and not so much capturing images... that may not be a problem.

Been thinking about selling mine for $ to put towards one of the newer models ;)
