Bore scoped my rifles

The more opinions you receive the more likely you'll find something that improves your results.
Not so sure about that. It is a nice thought though.
Should you always be looking to improve your knowledge? Absolutely!
Read some posts asking a specific question. Read the answers. Some not only have anything to do with the question they mislead the OP with a totally wrong answer to an unasked question.

In your first to pics, move the arrow to the right. The area right before the throat (which is what your arrows are point at) is the carbon ring. Right were the brass ends is the ring. The throat shows significant fire cracking in a gun that appears to have been fired a lot. No chunks are missing be it won't be long.
If you read carefully it say the arrows are there for indexing... note it points to the same spot on the cracking. They're on the originals for my personal use. Never said it had anything to do with the ring.

A friend of mine shoots Ar rifles with me and cleans the bore about as often as you. When the carbon ring got big enough, it kept the round from chambering all the way in but far enough for it to ignite the primer and blow the case in half right above the extractor groove and weld the extractor to the base of the case and lockup his bolt. He had to beat it open to repair the bolt. It blew the magazine out of the mag well in pieces. I think he learned his lesson. The longer you wait, the worse the situation becomes and the cleaning will be a real chore.
Good that you point this out. Just witnessed a ka- boom the other day. Same result, failed case, welded extractor, and locked up bolt. Previous spent brass showed horrible ejector imprints that apparently went ignored

Cost the owner the end of his thumb, blood splattered on the firing line, and a scramble for a ride to the hospital

Rpr 6.5 cm

It must happen a lot. The firing line at a range is a dramatic place.

I never said you should blindly follow the advice offered to your question. Like any other input source, you have to parse it out and apply those that fit to your specific application.

Carbon ring is a real problem in rimfire rifles. I discovered that a bore mop soaked in Bore Tech C4 Carbon Cleaner and left in the chamber overnight will remove carbon rings without any need to scrub. Now I insert a soaked bore mop in my chamber after every shooting session and then pass a dry patch through the bore when I get home. Works like a charm. You may want to try this in your centerfire rifles to see if that works as well.

Posted this in another thread here somewhere. I cut off an un-sized neck and solder a length of welding rod. A three sided jewelry file to create a few burrs. A little dab of JB and spin it. It bottoms out in the chamber and removes the carbon ring quick. I made one for each of the calibers I shoot.

For my center fire competition rifles I clean the same day as the match if I can. Sixty+ F-Class days it is a must. I use Boretec Eliminator and occasionally C4, Rarely C+. For my Smallbore competition rifles I will use the C4 mop trick sometimes just to be safe, but generally just Eleminator. Before I got a borescope I let my Walther KKM devlope a bad carbon ring which I was able to remove with a very stiff nylon brush and Flitz chucked in an electric drill and spun slowly. The brush was trashed but the rifle still shoots great.
