Whatever you want to call it, has anyone done a before and after test? I am going to chamber a 338 rum and do a before and after test. I am going to go in with a 334 throater and do some pressure testing. Was just looking for some other data to compare.

I don't know much about medal working so I ask, what exactly are you talking about here?? Are you saying your thinking about throating the 338 chamber/throat .001 wider in hopes of getting lower initial pressure curve resulting in you being able to load hotter loads?? You say "plus p??" Just trying to learn...

As far as I know the first reamers were made by JGS for 50 BMGs. You basically go in with a throater that cuts away half of the lands then tapers in. So you have 2 throats in a way. It reduces the initial pressure. Lou Murdica has been using one in a ppc and doing well. Alot of the long range hunters are using it as well. I have a 338 Rum reamer throated to fit a 250 hrbrid in a wyatts box, and want to test different legths of the bore rider throat.
