Hey guys, I had an idea for a bore rider cleaning guide but realized something similar has already been done, but they’re no longer made. I was doing some research and attached the original manufacturer’s product page and an Accurate Shooter article on these products. The original manufacturer was Don Leidich of Bore Rider Barrel Care Products.
My thoughts were having a bore riding guide that sits between the jag/ brush and the cleaning rod would guide the rod the entire length of the barrel and not allow the rod to rub on the crown or any other part of the rifling. This combined with a bore guide that supports the rod in the rear would seemingly be great. I’m considering making some of these and testing them out. My only concern is carbon and fouling being embedded in the plastic guide and dragging across the tops of the lands.
What do you guys think?
Thanks
