bore guides

just wondering what bore guide I need for a CZ 527 Varmint, I know sinclair make specific's for each gun but I have been looking at universal ones such as stoney point and dewey so I can use them on my other rifles. Ill but specific fit If I have to but it would be nice to have a universal one, also does anyone know the bolt diameter of the cz 527?

I agree, Mike Lucas makes a great guide,I use em, but if your on a budget the Sinclairs would be my second choice. Now I'm told if you have mucho $$$ the TK Nolan is the cats ass of bore guides.

Could someone w/ experience w/ both units or that has at least seen both in person,I've never seen either) describe the pros & cons of the Lucas vs. the TK Nolan bore guides? Up til now I've been using the Sinclair guides in most everything that's remotely important, and the Stoney Point ones in a few odd ball hunting guns. Getting some new barrels put on, etc. this winter and figure it might be worth looking at moving up in the world as far as my cleaning gear goes.

Thanks,

Monte

For the Lucas, imagine a Sinclair that is black and uses a seperate insert for the rear of the guide. This insert is closely fitted to the rod diameter itself so as to make so as to keep the rod going straight down the bore. I have never used a Nolan but you can find info for it on benchrest central under cleaning supplies and then "barrel saver".

One nice thing about the Lucas guides is that he will turn them to your bolt way diameter and also for your cleaning rod diameter, and caliber......
I don't know a thing about the Nolan so I'll not comment on that one other than they are a little pricey.
