Bore guide for Dakota Varminter in 17 Rem Fireball???

Any body have the bolt diameter measurement for a Dakota Varminter?

I'm trying to figure out what bore guide (preferrably from possom hollow) will work.

In a few weeks I'll have a Varminter in .17 Rem Fireball and am looking at getting the bore guide before the rifle shows up.

I'll contact Dakota and get the bolt dimensions if nobody here can give that info.

Mike Lucas can make one for you, has done several for me. IIRC, bolt is .595 diameter but that is not guaranteed.

I'll second Joe's suggestion for Mike Lucas. I have several of his and he just sent me another for a Sako A1 22 PPC. Once you use a Lucas guide, you'll toss those others aside, believe me. When you order, get an extra insert. It's handy to have two rods set up...one for brushing and one for patching.

With a . 17, you really need to keep from tweaking the cleaning rods. This is another area that the Lucas shines!
