Bore diameter of barrel question

Need to purchase a new barrel for a 6BRX build. Please comment on what differences you have noticed between .236 and .237 bores. Was there too much engraving on the jackets with a .236 bore? What bullet were you shooting if there was too much engraving?

You will not notice any difference. I have a few Brux .236 and they shoot 108 BT Berger's very well. All Brux barrels are .236 and their records speak for themselves.

Also have .237 Krieger and it shots good too.

You may notice the tighter .236 bore may take less powder to achieve the same velocity as a .237 due to slightly higher pressure.

Pick a good maker and just try to find a barrel in-stock.

Krieger says the .236 is for long range boat tail bullets and .237 is for short range flat base bullets. My Krieger is .236. It's new and haven't been able to see what it is really capable of due to 105 deg. Texas temps.

I experienced this going from the 236 to the 237 in a Dasher. Slight, but it was there.

FWIW I thought the Lapua 107s worked better in a 236 and did not like the other. Berger Hybrids in either one for the win.

That is what I am shooting in my 6BR now, so they will be tried to see how they compare to the 105 Hybrid.
