Borden Super Short 6

Is it possible to extend the magazines with standard extensions and or can you buy 12 round mags from Borden?
I would call him on the 12-round magazine. The Super Short 6 comes with two 10-round magazines, I purchased a couple of 5-round magazines for hunting from Jim.

I’ve ran a borden mountaineer for 3 years now in PRS competition (i own 3 out of the roughly 110 he’s made). It will cycle and feed BR and BRA cases 100% with a sako style extractor if you let him know this is your plan.

He can cut the mag well for a wyatt extended mag as well which lets you run binderless AICS mags without issue as long as your chassis/stock can get them to align.

This setup lets you run a BR (i’m using mdt mags), or stretched out 6.5 creed in the same action. I don’t see any reason to limit yourself to the super 6 unless you just find it interesting.

Can answer more questions if needed.
I agree with dnellans.

Looking at the super short for a 6bra PRS build. It is either this or another Impact. There is precious little end user info good or bad out there. How do you like yours?
It's a great action. It doesn't seem to have the following within the PRS crowd because, let's be honest, there is a major popularity contest going on with PRS gear selections and Jim doesn't aggressively market there.

Not sure about the 12-round question - it's one for Jim.

Also worth mentioning I shoot only 6BRA in mine and it cycles flawlessly. Standard 6BR would be even more smooth. The only possible downside is if you are pushing up on the mag while cycling the action, but I think that’s more AICS and nothing to do with the action.

Thanks for the input. Ordered a Mountaineer with a Krieger/TT diamondtech from Borden today. 10 rounds is the max for the SS6.

I am looking to get a very lightweight coyote hunting rifle built on the SS6 chambered in 6BR. How much weight will I save by using a CF wrapped bbl vs a standard sporter bbl ? The sporter bbl would be 24" long max.

I want to use a conventional style hunting stock, not a chassis style. What manufacturers besides McMillan & Manners makes a super lightweight stock ? (just looking for options)
