Boox/Kindle Paperwhite with Shotmarker

I was wondering if anyone has tried a Kindle Paperwhite or Kindle Oasis with an electronic system like the ShotMarker? There is an "experimental browser" on them, and I'm wondering if it works with the Shotmarker system.

I've seen some folks using the Boox brand tablet, and the black/white and no glare screen seem to be really nice in the sun. The battery life also sounds great, and possible less likely to overheat in the sun like I see a lot of tablets doing. I'm just wondering if the Kindle Paperwhite or Oasis will accomplish the same as the Boox for a lower price?

Any input with hands-on experience would be appreciated.

I haven't... but I have a PaperWhite... and a ShotMarker... I might give it a try this weekend.

Some e-readers work and some don't. Some require the unit to register back to their home server (like, Barnes and Noble's home server) to get authorization. But if you are not in a place with true Internet, such a registration won't happen. Plus some e-readers seem to have software incompatibilities.

Having said that, my "inkBook Obsidian" e-reader works just fine with SM, SMT, and Hex. It lacks color though but that has not been a problem.

I think it's a great idea for our community to publish which ones work and which don't. Being able to easily read the screen in blinding daylight is an amazing plus.

I got a Paperwhite and have been trying everything possible, but just can't get the device to connect. As you said, it keeps trying to connect back to Amazon or the internet but can't get there.

You may need to jailbreak or root and install native Android to the paper whites for them to work. It might be worth it for the visibility.
