books

Hey everyone, I going on vacation. And wanted to see if anybody had any idea's on a good book to buy to bring. I shoot fclass and do a lot of reloading and am very interested in accurate shooting. THANKS

If you just want to read good books for entertainment the Bob Lee Swagger series by Stephen Hunter is good reading with some shooting details in it. You wont be learning anything informative from it thought.

Admittedly, they may not help much for improving your shooting. But they're both very good and offer an alternative to reading gun magazines all the time.

It Doesn't Take a Hero (Norman Schwarzkopf)

American Sniper (Chris Kyle)

+1 on the Hunter books. Be sure to start with the first one in the Bob Lee series "Point of Impact". you can not set them down. Downright accurate and intense!

On vacation and shooting related..... Stephen Hunter - Bob Lee Swagger series
ditto this....just finished Point of Impact, and started Time to Hunt....have read both more than once, both are great...so are I, Sniper and Black Light

I highly recommend "The Highpower Shooting Primer" or "Precision Shooting at 1000 Yards". Both are a group of articles from Precision Shooting Magazine and are very informative. Both are out of print but usually available at Amazon.

American sniper is OUTSTANDING as well as Lone Survivor. I would also recommend Precision Shooting at 1000 yards--that one will give you the most help for shooting

The Benchrest Shooting Primer is also excellent, although most of the articles in all three books are from the mid 80's to the mid 90's.

Sure wish they would make some up-dated versions, with articles from PS Magazine.

I'd sure buy them!
Sure hard to find good, current reading. Mr. Litz's book is good also...

I just wish someone could make Precision Shooting profitable so it could make a comeback. I surely miss it. I get tired of reading about 3-shot groups in the other gun rags.

Paper is dead or dying. Online content is very difficult to monetize for smaller players (sometimes for larger ones, too). If a reliable and profitable business model is developed, something like it could succeed.

Or how 1 1/2" 3 shots groups are exceptable!!! In who's book!?!
Anything over 1/2" at 100 is detestable, even in a hunting rifle! But thats another story....
